As part of the international "Year of the Mountain", the Durban based Flora Publications Trust which has published the definitive books on the trees and flowers of KZN - is to publish a special limited-edition print portfolio of four Drakensberg flowers in October

It will consist of four watercolour portraits of flowers collected near the summit in the Ukhahlamba-Drakensberg World Heritage Park by Tessa Dean, one of the most exciting of the new generation of botanical artists, whose work is in great demand both nationally and internationally.

Only 500 individually signed and number sets of prints will be published before the plates are destroyed - adding greatly to their rarity and collectability.

The portfolio will be available in three editions: 15 sets of the Collector's Edition presented in a superb hand-tooled, gold-foiled leather-trimmed case containing the four prints and an original Tessa Dean watercolour to be sold at R10,000; a Subscriber's Edition of 150 sets in a beautiful hand-crafted folder in which the names of the subscribers will be published (one of whom will have a chance to win an original Tessa Dean watercolour) and will sell at R2,200 as a pre-publication offer; and the Standard Edition in its attractive folder of handmade card created by a local community-based organisation using indigenous plant fibres costing R1,200 as a pre-publication offer.

Applications for the Subscriber's Edition will close on September 1; thereafter the names of subscribers will not be able to be published in the portfolio.

For a colour brochure illustrating the four watercolours and containing full details, call Rob Cross on (031) 201-64-54 and one will be posted immediately or check the Trust's website on www.floratrustkzn.com
