Nine third year photographic students of the fine arts school at the Durban Institute of Technology are currently exhibiting their work in the foyer area of the Durban Art Gallery in the foyer area.

Comprising black and white as well as colour photographs and surfaces that will take a photographic image, the work is varied and interesting. Each photographer has a strong individual style and varied methods of presentation. The subject matter deals with contemporary life in Durban.

Durban Arts board member Ros Sarkin, who signed up for the photographic course three years ago, offers a sensitive and poignant “family album” that emphathises with senior citizens and the state of old age.

The exhibition will remain on view until July 5.
