The BAT Centre is now accepting applications for music and visual artists-in-action Residency Program. Talented visual artists and musicians aged from 18 upwards are invited to apply for the BAT Centre artists in Residency Program. This program will kick-start on March 4 and will run for a period of six months.

Sponsored by the Durban Metro Council's Department of Economic Development, the Residency Program aims to train and empower young musicians and visual artists with technical, marketing and business skills.

The programme is free of charge and materials are provided to the participants. The program is run by professional artists who are specialists in these fields.

Interested visual artists and musicians are asked to complete an application form and submit it with the following: a portfolio of at least ten recent drawings, paintings and/or sculptures(visual artists only): a copy of their CV; a copy of their ID document; and the names and telephone numbers of at least three contactable referees.

The closing date for applications is February 15. After this date, the participants will be called in for interviews. Application forms can be collected from the BAT Centre's Management Office or call the Centre on 031 332-0451 for a form to be faxed.
