In order to attract a younger audience to the Durban Art Gallery, the Friends of the DAG support a venture called Red Eye @rt which `happens’ (and believe, me, it IS a happening!) at the Durban Art Gallery on the first Friday of every month. The idea is to present interesting and challenging contemporary art in all disciplines from the artists of tomorrow.

This month’s Red Eye @rt takes place on Friday (August 6) between 18h00 and 20h00. The highlight will be a fashion auction where designer clothes exhibited at previous Red Eye @rt events will be up for grabs by the smartest bidders. Music will be provided by upbeat DJ's, there’ll be art installations and an exhibition by Langa Magwa.

The Red Eye @rt group have recently purchased three new acquisitions for the gallery so you’ll be supporting a good cause. Entrance R10 (R5 members). The Durban Art Gallery is situated on the second floor of the City Hall (entrance in Smith Street opposite the Playhouse).
