Gandhi, Luthuli, Mandela, King: A Legacy for the Future focuses on aspects of the lives, works and teachings of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, John Albert Mavumbi Luthuli and Nelson Rolihlalha Mandela. The works and teachings of these individuals transcend boundaries of state and time and have particular relevance to our struggle in the Durban Unicity and South Africa as a whole for a better quality of life for all.

It is therefore appropriate that this exhibition has been located at the Adams/Amanzimtoti History and Outreach Centre (ADAMHOC), a new and innovative community project at Adams College.

ADAMHOC is located at the historical Adams College, where Dr Newtown Adams of the American Board Mission established Adams Mission in 1836. It was at Adams College that Dr Albert Luthuli studied for a Higher Teacher's Certificate. He later joined the staff of the Teachers' Training Department of Adams College where he taught from 1921 to 1935. Former State President, Nelson Mandela, played an important role in securing funding for the renovation of the Adams Mission building in which ADAMHOC is located.

The Durban Metro Unicity's Local History Museums are assisting ADAMHOC in establishing a community heritage programme. The exhibition runs until the end of September.
