Musa Mncabe, education officer at the Durban Art Gallery, recently received one of the annual City Star awards. The awards recognise members within the ranks of the Durban Unicity for their contribution in their fields of operation.

The community service category was presented to Musa Mncabe for his contribution beyond the call of duty. Apart from his job at the DAG which sees him handling the many school visitors to the gallery, he has been running a street photographer programme for three years and teaches art to youngsters in his spare time at a library in Umlazi.
