Pietermaritzburg’s popular annual outdoor art exhibition Art in the Park takes place from May 30 to June 3 in Alexandra Park. Opening hours are from 10h00 to 20h00 but the exhibition closes early on the final day at 16h00.

First launched in 1962, Art in the Park has been sponsored by renovation specialists Gordon Verhoef and Krause for the past 12 years. Among the highlights will be Beth Freeman-Kane’s finely detailed bird miniatures, Christopher Haw’s watercolours, Mat Louwrens’ sand paintings and sweeping landscapes by Mduduzi Xakasa, education officer of the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg.

There will be live entertainment and light meals and refreshments are available courtesy of Round Table. A wine bar, a first for Art in the Park, will be open from 16h00. Secure parking is also available.
