Coming to South Africa when her husband was posted here, Elisabeth Deliry-Antheaume did what she always does when visiting a country – discover what makes it unique. She latched onto the subject of murals and her fascinating exhibition now on show at the BAT Centre, Art on the Walls (Walls are Speaking) co-hosted by the French Institute and the Alliance Française, is the result of her research and observations. Considering the high crime level in South Africa, she likes to call it “not armed response but art response.” She will conduct walkabouts until June 20.
