FNB Vita Awards and the Sandton Civic Gallery invite the public to nominate artists who exhibit work between January and December 2000, to be commissioned for the prestigious FNB Vita Art Prize 2001. The FNB Vita Art Prize system aims to promote an interest and awareness of South African contemporary art and, after reviewing and considering all nominations, a panel of judges will draw up a short list of a maximum of six artists.

These artists will be commissioned to produce a new work for the FNB Vita Art Prize and Exhibition to be held at the Sandton Civic Gallery during July 2001. One of these artists will be selected as the FNB Vita Contemporary Artist of the Year, winning the overall prize of R35,000.

In Durban, nomination forms can be found at the BAT Centre, Durban Art Gallery, NSA Gallery and Technikon Natal. Simply fill out the form and send it to FNB Vita Awards (postage paid). For further information or to receive a nomination form, call (011) 442-8435 or visit www.artslink.co.za/fnb
