Technikon Natal Gallery will host an exhibition of prints titled Permission to See by American artist Ray Allard which fulfills his requirements for MTech Degree at Technikon Natal. The exhibition will run from July 20 to 23.

Ray Allard is an advertising artist, cartoonist and photographer. He speaks of art making as a passion in which he expresses his ideas and philosophy of life. He believes that the visual artist, like the performing artist, attempts in some way to connect with an audience of viewers by "lighting some fire or recognition, or by otherwise provoking a reaction". Since for him, art reflects the soul of the community, he is strongly aware of the artist's responsibility to that community and wants the effect of his work to be positive. His work reflects a life-long love or organic imagery, whether that of the human body, landscape and natural forms.
