Sexpo has commissioned Kizo Art Consultants to curate the Erotica Art Exhibition at Sexpo KZN in February 2008. The exhibition will showcase top South African painters, namely Richard Scott, Gavin Rain, Anthony Holmes, Vanessa Berlein and Wakaba Mutheki while introducing two renowned Zimbabwean sculptors Zephania Chuma and Isiah Chuma.

The entire body of work of over 100 sculptures from the two sculptures will later be exhibited at The Kizo Art Gallery in Gateway during 2008 as part of a larger Erotica Exhibition.

Erotica has always played an important role as a theme in the visual arts industry of South Africa and that of the world however it often remains out of the public’s eye. The exhibition at the Johannesburg show attracted enormous attention with hundreds of people queuing to see the works each day. The Durban leg promises to be no different.

The works will be offered for sale and range from realistic to contemporary and even modern pop styles.

The Erotica Art Exhibition runs in the ICC Arena (Durban) from February 7 to 10. For more information, contact Kizo Curator Nathi Gumede on 031 566 4322 and www.kizo.co.za
