Dr Peter Magubane’s Women of South Africa photographic exhibition will be on show at Gateway Theatre of Shopping’s Promo Zone from August 8 to 13.

Hosted by Transnet port terminals, formerly known as South African Port Operations (SAPO), Dr Magubane’s remarkable black and white photographs document images of South African women’s courage.

“From the 1956 march when 20,000 women protested the carrying of passes, and through the following decades, the images capture significant moments in our history. We salute Dr Magubane’s contribution to women’s empowerment and encourage the public, businesses and schools to view this striking collection as we celebrate women’s month this year,” said Tau Morwe, Chief Executive, Transnet port terminals.
