NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. In the KZNSAs regular Hottopic discussion on July 25 at 17h30, gallery director Brenton Maart will talk about START: The Nivea Art Award 2007. He will focus on the exhibition in the context of other South African art awards, and on how the work on show is an indication of the future of South African contemporary art. The talk will be followed by a walkabout of the Nivea Art exhibition. All are welcome.
