Running in the Middle Gallery of artSPACE durban, is the first solo show of Mozambican artist Zefanias Antonio Mavie.

His work is done in Bhawa wood, a common indigenous timber, from which he creates decorative shallow vessels stained or painted in a variety of ethnically inspired designs. These vessels/trays are not intended for functional use, but rather as artistic expressions.

Zefanias Antonio Mavie’s exhibition runs until July 3.
