Running at Bean Bag Bohemia are two exhibitions running until April 8.

These are David Gaylard’s Circles of life in the downstairs Cafe Gallery and Jacki Bruniquel’s Fight or Flight in the upstairs Reception Gallery.

The new bodies of work both share a personal attachment or association with botanica and the landscape as defining elements of the artists’ identity.

Bruniquel's painted, photographic collages speak of her feminine African identity, which she carries with her in flight from and ultimate migration back to fight for a sense of belongingness in her African home. Gaylard uses macroscopic photography to explore the miraculous nature of water droplets, suspended in his mother’s Zimbabwean garden. The images pay homage to his Grandfather and grandmother and his life long love of botany which has been a formative influence on Gaylard as an artist and designer.
