Opening on February 27 at 16h00 at the NSA Galleries is an exhibition titled u p s t art by recent graduates and current B-Tech students from Technikon Natal's fine art department.

“This showcase promise to track another batch of talented, spunky young things emerging from the Durban scene - The Technikon Natal release doses of talent onto the South African art scene on an annual basis. The exhibition as usual consists of a tug and pull between object and non-object based works, and would certainly be to the taste of a diverse audience,” says NSA curator Storm Janse van Rensburg who has compiled the exhibition.

This exhibition, which consists of strict selections from graduates' recent presentations, attempts to “investigate links between individual students, as well as profile sometimes-perceived contradictions inherent in the production of these young artists,” adds Storm. “This is an opportunity for the public to acquaint themselves with the best the Department has to offer.”
