The African Art Centre is to host an exhibition of works by Thulani Alred Mchunu from June 14 at The African Art Centre.

Born in 1968 in Richmond, the artist has received no formal training but draws from memory and likes to depict highways and traffic on the roads around where he lives.

The works on show comprise drawings on paper of the midlands of KwaZulu Natal in the Richmond, Bulwer and Pietermaritzburg area. His drawings have a border of text in which he presents his thoughts. Thulani Mchunu describes these vivid and finely observed drawings as his "maps".

The exhibition opens at 17h30 on June 14 and will run for at least two weeks. More information on 332 0451.
