artSPACE durban will host Rocktalk, an exhibition of paintings by Lorraine Goss-Ross in the Main Gallery from June 5.

“Hold a piece of rock in your hand and you are holding time!” says Lorraine Goss-Ross. “The signs of weathering speak of countless aeons past (of this our shared home). What conversations we could have with these inanimate, ageless objects if they could only speak! The silence is profound.

“Yes, science can give us their approximate age and tell us how geological conditions affected their development, but what of that brooding, awesome mystery we want to share or connect with?”

Rocktalk opens on June 5 at 18h00 for 18h30 and runs until June 24 at 13h00. It runs in conjunction with Through My Eyes, a photographic exhibition by Dale Grobler.
