The KZNSA Gallery has announced the appointment of Nkosinathi Gumede to the position of Curator of the KZNSA Gallery.

At a special meeting of the KZNSA council, it was unanimously agreed that Nathi was the most suitable candidate to take the KZNSA Gallery forward in terms of the Society’s strategic vision

“Nathi Gumede is particularly fortunate in being able to assume his appointment on the exceptionally solid foundation created by his mentor, the current Curator, Storm Janse van Rensburg,” says KZNSA Chairman Alan Rycroft.

Nathi will have a two-month period of working with Storm in preparation for assuming full responsibility for the Gallery. Accordingly, Nathi’s appointment will be effective from January 1, 2006.

“The success of Nathi’s appointment will depend, to a large extent, on the support he is given by his colleagues and members of the arts community of KZN,” says CEO of the ZNSA. Trevor Moore. “We have every confidence that he will receive the full and immediate support of his colleagues at KZNSA and that he will broaden the confidence that he currently enjoys within the arts community. To Nathi, we extend our congratulations and wish him every success in this appointment.”
