Recently opened in Winterskloof outside Pietermaritzburg, is Jocelyn and Errol Boyley’s Peregrine Fine Art and Décor gallery. The gallery incorporates paintings, drawings, ceramics, bronzes, hand-made jewellery, glass, metalwork and textiles which are brought together in an attractive setting.

The gallery houses professional artists from KZN, Gauteng, the Cape and elsewhere. A large variety of work is on exhibit, including that of well-known potter David Walters who was the founder of The Midlands Meander and now lives in Franschhoek. His daughter Sarah is also represented. She has followed in her father’s footsteps by producing fine porcelain and glassware in her own distinctive style.

The opening of Peregrine also marked the formal launch of Jocelyn’s biography of her husband, Errol Boyley – Celebration of a Life.

In the late 70’s and early 80’s, Jocelyn and Errol had a gallery which they opened in Ramsgate on the KZN South Coast. When they moved to Old Howick Road in Pietermaritzburg in 1986, they incorporated a private gallery into their home and in 1995 opened a further gallery in Franschhoek, which they had for eight years until they moved to Winterskloof in late 2003. Peregrine is the fourth gallery they have launched and their dedication to the promotion of art in all its forms is evident by the standard displayed.

Peregrine is situated at 8 St Michael’s Road, Winterskloof. More information from Lola Young on 033 346 0926, 084 826 8508 or e-mail:lolampe@mweb.co.za
