The annual KwaZulu-Natal School Art Exhibition will be on show in the Durban Art Gallery from February 9 to 27.

20th century matric art students have entered the new millennium with the style of difference. Irrespective of the province’s disappointing matric results, KZN budding artists will prove their abundant creative talent when they showcase their incredible talent in the Durban Art Gallery. The aim of this exhibition is not only to showcase the best art of the 20th century young artists, but to give the general public an opportunity to see and appreciate the talents that need to be nourished from local future artists.

The works in a variety of medium demonstrate the impressive technical proficiency of many of KZN’s young artists . Of interest among the wide range of exhibits to be seen will be fine examples of linoprints in colour, black and white, powerful sculptures and ceramics. Mixed medium works will prove how well technology fuses with visual art. A supplementary exhibition titled Daily Life In A Suitcase will be on show concurrently with matric art.
