Tamasa Gallery will host an exhibition of paintings by Durban artist Pippa Lea Pennington from October 6 to 22.

The paintings, in oils and pastels, are of rocks and plants. Her source of inspiration is from her travels around South Africa and her vast photographic collection of indigenous plants.

Pippa aims to inspire in the viewer the fascination she experiences when confronting plants in their natural setting. In her paintings, the plants take on human proportions in their large scale and sculptural treatment of plant forms, that awaken in the viewer a heightened awareness of their beauty and presence.

Tamasa Gallery is situated at 36 Overport Drive, Durban. Phone 031 207 1223, fax 031 207 1224 or e-mail: tamasacc@mweb.co.za
