Opening on September 15 in Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg, will be a new exhibition titled Alex Angel, an exhibition of prints and illustrated poems in book form by Liesbeth Groenewald. The poetry is by her son Alex.

The works consist of block-mounted computer prints and art on paper, showing Groenewald's fascination with the images and presence of stone angels in various cemeteries. Following Alex's death, Groenewald turned her fascination into an exploration into the illusiveness of angels and the soul.

The exhibition also sees the launch of Alex Angel, the books of illustrated poetry. These books will be for sale at the exhibition which runs until October 23.
