Opening at 18h00 on May 3 in the KwaZulu Natal Gallery of the Tatham Art Gallery is the Stand-up for Conservation exhibition, a project of the 2005 Art for Conservation initiative.

Some 21 contemporary KZN artists have decorated a collection of chairs and "hope chests". The array of chairs and chests is wacky, beautiful and eye-catching. The exhibition will be opened by Bren Brophy, curator of the Art for Conservation exhibition.
