“Art lovers are invited to have the pleasure of experiencing the light, the colour, artistic touch and stroke of the feeling of Anton Scholtz who will present us exclusively with his new collection: Villages of France, from an African perspective," says Jean-François Jacquemin, director of the Alliance Française de Durban.

Born in Durban in 1941, Anton Scholtz began painting at the age of 21. His talent enabled him to hold exhibitions in Mozambique and Eritrea. In 2003, his work could be enjoyed in a museum in Angelholm Sweden and at l’Auberge de la Fontaine, in Venasque, Provence. After several stays in France and retaining links, Anton Scholz is presenting his new vision of a celebration of a French village.

This exhibition will also be presented in the other branches of the Alliance Française in Cape Town, Mitchell Plain, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Port Elisabeth and Maseru.

The Alliance Française de Durban is situated at 22 Sutton Crescent, Morningside in Durban. Phone 031 312 95 82/312 8461 and fax 031 312 2864.
