Kobus Kotze is exhibiting at The Blue Caterpillar until January 15, 2005. Works by Christian Nice, Coral Spencer, Claudia Meyer, Sandy Buekes and Jo Kotze will also grace the walls of the gallery during the exhibition.

Kobus began his painting career in the late 60’s and continues to paint today. He is known for his unique sense of the usage and mixing of colours. He captures his emotions and traditions in his work and it reflects the way he views the world. He studied agriculture would record a barrage of ideas during the day, on his farm in the Eastern Cape, and spend the evenings in his studio expressing it on canvas.

Kobus held his first solo exhibition in 1971, and many exhibitions followed. In 1990, he opened the Kobus Kotze’ Art Gallery in Aliwal North, and became a fulltime artist. For more than a decade, he has also proven himself as framer of distinction, being able to “marry” frame to painting.
