The Alliance Française Gallery is to host an exhibition by well-known artist Zamani Makhanya.

Zamani Makhanya, who recently created the graphics for the Nantes Festival in France, is to present his work in Durban in November. Working mainly in oil pastels, his semi-abstract compositions are created as a response to the often confusing dynamics of black life in South Africa and the diaspora. He attempts to forge a personal synthesis between certain traditional African forms and forms that he has been developing, with consideration of the life perspectives that prompted both into being.

The exhibition opens on November 2 at 18h30 to run until November 19.
