The organisers of the Durban Art Gallery’s Red Eye initiative challenge artists both established and new to create a work of art using nothing but the human form as a medium. However, artists are required to use a minimum of 10 bodies so the ideas need to start flowing as the next Red Eye takes place on September 17 when Red Eye kicks off as the first of many events being hosted under the Celebrate Durban/eThekwini umbrella.

There is no limit as to how many people can be involved but artists are encouraged to be as creative as possible - dress up, dress down (or not dress at all!), use each other as canvasses or become part of a human body sculpture!

Those interested should send a short (strong stress on "short") proposal detailing brilliant ideas. Don't forget to include contact details and the number of people involved. Proposals can be delivered directly to the Durban Art Gallery, 2nd floor, City Hall, Smith Street entrance, or e-mail to turnerl@prcsu.durban.gov.za
