Artists Gail Baxter and Gayle Walters are presenting an exhibition titled Nudes@Spice at the Spice restaurant in the couryard off Florida Road.

This is expected to be the first of a series of exhibitions of local artists’ work within the Spice dining space.

Gail Baxter is a graduate of the Johannesburg College of Art. She has taught for many years both privately and at high school level. A practicing member of the Watercolour Society of Southern Africa, she is equally proficient in oils and holds an enduring fascination for the nuances of simple drawing media.

Gayle Walters studied at Technikon Natal’s school of art and spent a number of years designing and building stage sets. An award-winning member of the Natal Quilters Society, she returned to her first love of figure drawing and has exhibitied at the KwaZulu-Natal Bienniale and the Elizabeth Gordon Gallery. Her works are in private collections in London, Pal Springs and New York as well as in major centres in South Africa.
