The Performing Arts Network of South Africa (PANSA) has secured the services of Dr Riaan Els to conduct a workshop on Professional Resource Mobilisation and Practical Proposal-writing in Durban on May 21 from 09h00 to 16h30. Venue to be confirmed.

The main focus of the workshop, which is very practical in nature, is on raising funds, mobilising resources, a hands-on approach to writing funding proposals, as well as developing a winning attitude to attracting donors.

Some of the interesting topics covered during the workshop include such pertinent issues as current grant-making trends in South Africa; criteria applied by donors when evaluating funding proposals, and gaining access to sources of funding. There will be strong focus on how to construct a professional proposal and develop a competitive advantage. Other aspects include budgets and technical aspects of grant applications; hints for submitting proposals as well as practical stewardship and building long-term donor relations.

The cost for attending the workshop will be R150 (R50 PANSA/NACSA members/R75 students). This includes refreshments, a light lunch and workshop notes.

Reservations are essential as places are limited. For more information and to reserve your place contact Mark Hawkins or Peter Taylor on 031 209 0142 or e-mail: flyingfish@mweb.co.za

PANSA acknowledges the support of the Fuchs Foundation, which has once again generously sponsored this workshop and a similar event in Cape Town.
