French Presence in South Africa, a Cultural Tourism Research Development Project opens on March 24 at the Gallery@DIT (Durban Institute of Technology, formerly Technikon Natal). This is a retrospective exhibition mounted by the recipient of the official Ambassador for KZN Tourism Award, Glenn Flanagan, and the Gallery.

The exhibition is largely a photographic documentation of the cultural exchange between France and South Africa dating as early 1800s and incorporates a wide range of colour photographs, paintings, publications as well as artefacts from the Glenn Flanagan collection, Alliance Francaise as well as the Natal Museum collections.

French Presence in South Africa will be opened by Jean-Francois Jaquemin (Director of the Alliance Francaise de Durban) on March 24 at 13h00.

The exhibits are wheelchair accessible and the Gallery aims to make most exhibits and activities accessible from a seated position. The exhibition runs from March 24 to April 13.
