The National School of the Art’s Festival of Fame, which features the talents of the Truly Famous, the Newly Famous and the About-to-be Famous will celebrate its third anniversary in May this year!

This collaboration between The National School of the Arts, The Johannesburg Development Agency and The University of the Witwatersrand has sustained for the past two years and has proved to be hugely successful.

The 2004 Festival of Fame will be no exception and the five-day programme will be jam packed with performances, workshops and exhibitions from the NSA’s four departments (Art, Dance, Drama and Music) and Wits University’s School of the Performing Arts. The hilarious Matthew Ribnick also returns with a brand new production, so do a few other professional shows. The Festival of Fame will host community groups and schools, from the Gauteng area.

The ever-popular “Meet the Stars”, that brought such delight to appreciative high school audiences last year, promises to get even bigger. Another firm favourite is the popular Battle of the Bands and Open Mike Poetry/Hip-hop sessions, which are always, full. This year it promises to be bigger and better.
