The National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders (NICRO) will showcase a selection of the best regional entries from their annual Creative Arts Awards.

This national competition is an opportunity for offenders to display their individual artistic talent and is part of NICRO’s challenge to provide innovative community support.

Prizes are awarded for the best regional and, ultimately, the best works from the whole of South Africa. Categories include woodwork, needlework, matchstick construction, painting, fabric painting, leatherwork, recycling and poetry and prose.

The exhibition opens on September 23 and runs until October 19.
