The next meeting of the active Upper South Coast Art Association will take place on August 5 at the Amanzimtoti Library’s Function Room and will take the form of An Evening with John Smith.

John is one of Durban’s most respected artists and teachers and is the chairman of the KZN branch of VANSA, the Visual Artists Network of South Africa.

The meeting’s theme will be The Human Figure, either a portrait, a figure study, or a picture in which the human figure or figures play an important part.

USCAA’s annual exhibition held in July was highly successful. Over 950 people visited the exhibition. Some 52 members exhibited a total of 172 artworks of which 37 were sold.
