Andrew Walford will host another Open Day at Andrew's mountain top studio overlooking Shongweni Dam and Game Reserve on July 20 from 10h00 to 18h00.

Apart from the hundreds of pots this productive potter has been making - from unglazed handbasins to delicate porcelain miniatures, there will a bargain basement and Bharats delectable breyani and Joy’s cakes will be served on the lawns. So arrange to meet friends and enjoy the fresh country air hopefully glimpsing the resident black eagles and flocks of hornbills.

Andrew is exhibiting in Deventer, Holland in September and renewing his contacts in Europe before another show in Berlin early next year. Life would not be normal for a potter (ask any!) without a fair share of catastrophes. Andrew's latest was with the jumbo tiles which decided during their three day firing to 1350 degrees to melt completely and stick permanently to the excruciatingly expensive shelves. However, the shelves have been rescued and a few more grey hairs added to the potter’s head but life carries on creatively at Shongweni.

So make a note of the date and head for B9 Shongweni valley .Phone 0317691363 for details or visit www.andrewwalford.co.za
