The popular Durban Art Gallery initiative, Red Eye @rt, celebrates its fifth birthday on June 6.

It certainly calls for a celebration and this event will be the most spectacular yet with five venues in five hours and works around the theme of”5”. It starts at 18h30 at the Durban Art Gallery where some exciting shows will be seen.

The party then moves on at 19h30 to the Natural Science Museum to see the BIG FIVE and funky dinosaurs and giraffes dressed for the occasion. Led by Durban's own Pied Piper, Phila, then leads the celebrations to Albany Grove where an installation will be shown in an emptyshop and graffiti artists will be working on a wall. There will be music and nearby pubs available.

The crowd will then segue down to the underpass below the railway line which will be lit, cleaned up, secured and glamourised for the next leg of the party and we will then move on to the harbour where the TranAfrica cafe will be open for the rest of the night's celebrations.
