Recent works by Michael Tietz will be on show at the Grillroom Café, Innes Road, from April 17.

The exhibition comprises grisaille oil paintings and mixed media collages that explore the relationship between abstraction and representation, the physicality of the art object and the process of art making. Made by building up layers and excavating the image through sgraffito like techniques, each piece takes on the appearance of an archeological artifact.
