The popular annual TAFTA Children's Drawing Competition was held recently, and the winning artworks will be exhibited at the BAT Centre between April 25 and May 10. The theme of the drawing contest was Fun in the Sun and this time round, the beneficiary of the annual Association for the Aged contest is the village of Illungelo Labadala (Rights of the Elderly) in the district of Amaoti, Inanda.

This special community cares for the elderly in the district and, more recently, increasing numbers of AIDS orphans. It operates an after-care facility, offers primary education and a skills-building programme, and encourages self-empowerment.

The exhibition opens at 10h00 on April 25 in the Menzi Mchunu Gallery, BAT Centre, 45 Maritime Place, Small Craft Harbour, Durban. Enquiries to Njabulo Hlongwane on 031 332 0451.
