Every February the Alliance Française of Durban holds a photographic competition open to all photographers. This year the theme is From a Child’s World. The winning photographs will be judged by Vernon Hoover and Malcolm Lyle (the third judge is still to be announced) and will be framed and exhibited in other Alliances Françaises in South Africa. Great prizes will be donated by sponsors Canon, Whysalls, Photomax and others.

Entry fee R20 (R10 per entry to be donated to I Care, LHC Foundation for Street Children). A maximum number of two photographs is permitted per entrant. Photographs must be 20 x 30cm and can be digital or conventional. Entries are to be submitted to the Alliance Française by February 21, and the winners will be announced at a cocktail party to be held at the Alliance Française on February 27 at 18h00.
