MACS House at 173 Alexandra Rd, Pietermaritzburg is the home of the Midlands Arts And Crafts Society and The MACS Coffee Shop-Restaurant. Offering a stress-free alternative to the rat race, the coffee shop serves breakfasts, lunches and tea time treats, with a homely menu that never neglects vegetarians.

There’s also a local arts and crafts shop, Café gallery, courses in creative embroidery, painting, batik, felting and beadwork - not to mention a second-hand bookshop, garden in progress and safe parking.

They are open Monday to Saturday 08h00 to 17h00 with Friday nights offering dinner and live music.

MACS House will host a Bizarre Bazaar from November 30 to December 8 from 08h30 to 17h00. Over the weekends, Art in Action takes place from 10h00 to 14h00. These workshops include felt making, spinning, pottery and glass blowing.
