Durban's irrepressible theatrical trio The Gee Jays invite audiences to join them on a sentimental journey down memory lane when they present their latest show Swooners and Crooners at the Langoustine Theatre by the Sea from January 22 to February 20, 2000

As the Gee Jays, Gary McKenzie, Grant Bell and John Didlick have performed together for close on 15 years. For Swooners and Crooners, however, they have broken-away from their usual theatrical madcap and risque style to create a more sophisticated production as they perform evergreen numbers sung by the likes of Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and The Platters. The show also moves through the upbeat eras of Elvis Presley. Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Roy Orbison, The Beatles, Barry Manilow, Lionel Richie, Wet Wet Wet and Boyzone.

Swooners and Crooners was originally commissioned for a private function and was so successful that requests to perform the show at further functions came in thick and fast. The show includes a delicious three-course meal catered by the Langoustine Theatre by the Sea. Book through the Langoustine on (031) 563-7324 (ask for Yash) or at Computicket.
