NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Following his highly successful tribute to The Eagles and to Carlos Santana, producer Stuart Mey now turns his focus on Eric Clapton for his latest show to appear in the Playhouse Cellar. Clapton will feature the best and most well-known of Clapton’s music over the last 40 years. With popular numbers such as Sunshine of Your Love, I Shot the Sheriff, Tears in Heaven and Layla, the show promises to be slick and true to the original Clapton sound. Back behind the instruments again will be trusty guitarists Bruce Boom, Dave Arnold, father and son team Glen and Andy Turrell and Rowan Stuart. Also appearing will be Stuart Mey and his daughter Nicky (17) with Ian Webster (drummer) and Tory Cassells (keyboard). “The vibe for the show is laid back, like a group of friends “hanging out” at someone’s house and enjoying the music in a relaxed atmosphere. Early booking is advised. Book at Computicket
