NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Running at the Langoustine by the Stage until October 17 is Millennium Meltdown devised by Duncan Royce and Kate Bruce (see review on this website). Featuring music of the 80’s and the 90’s – a welcome change from the more popular tributes to the 60’s and 70’s! – this is a good show to welcome in a new era. Make up a party of friends and have a fun evening. The energetic Kate Bruce also appears in the show with the mercurial Tim Wells, sultry Liesl Coppin and the golden-voiced Percy Smith - a strong cast displaying their musical talents in a fast-moving production. The set introduces some sophisticated features to supper theatre at the Langoustine and a drop-down video screen adds some hi-tech and cyber footage as the computer in the storyline tries to take the show over from the humans. However, the infamous Y2K virus is lurking in the wings! Tickets are R90 and include an enjoyable three-course meal. Book on (031) 563-7324 and ask for Lisa Todd or via Computicket. Or save booking costs and book directly on the internet at http://www.computicket.com.
