Jetdrag is a new show from The Family Players due to run at The Rhumbelow in Cunningham Ave (off Bartle Road) on November 2 and 3 at 19h00 for 19h30 and November 4 at 17h00 for 17h30.

Jetdrag featuring Derek Pearce, David Hierons, Greg Baptie, Roland Stansell, Andrew Reynard and John Cavelheir is a comical lip-sync drag send up of foreign artists arriving to perform in South Africa. The plane lands in Cape Town, jets of to Johannesburg and finally touches down in Durban. The material in this show has been dug out of the dark ages and many of the numbers will surprise some of the older Durban folk.

The first half is a complete send up of the characters that we find in the Cape and ends up sending up tourist experiences in Durban,” says Roland Stansell. “In the second half we look at the various acts that have graced our shows over the last decade and bring them to life in Durban’s better known Theatre “The Layhouse”.”

Tickets R50 include a two course meal. (Vegetarians need to confirm requirements in advance). R400 for tables of eight. Booking is essential as the venue is small. Limited secure parking available.
