NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. The Gee Jays have been running their popular NOT The Full Monty at the Langoustine Theatre by the Sea as a special Ladies Night Tuesday for the past few Tuesday nights, and has been so successful that they have slotted in an extra show on Monday night (August 27). The Gee-Jays are a much-loved institution on the supper theatre circuit. They are Gary McKenzie, John Didlick and Grant Bell. Their easy-listening show features popular numbers: Under the Broadwalk, New York, YMCA and Heartbreak Hotel. “We even find out who "Alice" actually is, in the song!” quips Gary McKenzie. As the title suggests, this is NOT the “full Monty”. But it may be considered at least half a monty! With a series of gyrations we meet the founders of the male dancing group "The Chippendales" - Chip and Dale …a sight for sore eyes! Especially if you’re into the "Save the Whale" campaign! Tickets for Monday night are R99 which includes a two course meal. Arrival is 19h00 for 19h15. Booking is at the Langoustine by The Sea: on (031) 563-7324.
