Following his smash-hits of Sinderella (1996), Aladdin (1997) and Sleeping Beauty (1998) in the Playhouse Cellar, producer Eric Hutton is on track for the next adult panto Jack and the Big Stalk. And if you aren’t familiar with these wacky fun shows, the title alone should give an indication of the type of humour involved.

Jack and the Big Stalk sees the return of regular performers Anthony Stonier (what would an adult panto be without those legs?), David Hierons and Heather Barclay-Whiffin. Although Norraine Swanby is unable to be in this production in person, her recorded voice will play an essential part! Also featured will be Carol Trench who was so impressive in the recent Eric Hutton production in the Cellar, Piaf, Brel, Aznavour and Greg King who played the title role in Aladdin. A new addition to the cast is the ever-popular Clinton Philander who is the show’s narrator as … wait for it - a comical cow!

Jack and the Big Stalk opens in the Playhouse Cellar early October and is set to run over the festive season. Booking is now open and special shows can be arranged for corporate or large Christmas parties. Phone Saroja at the Playhouse on (031) 369-9505 or David on (031) 705-2555.
