The Tuesday Supper Theatre evenings at Bella Vista in Botha’s Hill this month feature I Feel a Song Coming On featuring Vanessa Skaer and Darren King with Ashley Roberts on piano. This production was seen at the Royal Hotel’s Backstage in Durban several months ago (see review on these pages, possibly in Archives by now)

This toe-tapping and entertaining intimate musical revue features favourite songs from the 30's and 40's like For Me & My Gal, Mister Sandman, Blue Moon and I Got Rhythm, to name a few. An added highlight is the use of a live pianist rather than the usual concentration on backing tracks.

Vanessa Skaer began her career in England where she trained with The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She performed throughout England and Europe appearing in varied roles in musicals before settling in Durban where she appeared in Themi Venturas’s West End Web and The War Years.

Darren King has specialised in musical theatre, working in repertory theatre in the UK. He spent two years as an entertainer with P&O Cruise Liners and has also been involved with direction, production and choreography.

Tickets R80 include two course meal. Shows Tuesdays only (July 17, 24 and 31). Bookings essential through Jane on (031) 765-1516.
