Remember Let’s Misbehave, miss Sundays with Lounge Act at Zacks and love the music in Life is a Cabaret? Do your senses respond to numbers such as New York and Over the Rainbow? If so, then stand by for Soirée.

Three multi- Durban Theatre and Fools award winners, Carol Trench, Anthony Stonier and Evan Roberts, have long been popular in Durban for their elegant music revues and Carol and Anthony recently performed as soloists with the KZN Philharmonic.

A few months ago this talented trio conducted an experiment by holding several soirées in private homes in Durban and Pietermaritzburg to be met with overwhelming success. Exclusive audiences, restricted to 60 people, enjoyed laid-back evenings listening to their favourite and most popular songs, combined with Carol’s hilarious comedy and Anthony’s dry wit. After the performance they chatted to the cast over drinks and snacks in a candle-lit garden.

Now Soirée moves to the Rhumbelow for three performances. Shows take place on October 6 and 7 at 20h00 and on October 8 at 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner. Tickets R60. Take along food picnic baskets and braais will be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road.
