Featured in the latest SA Rock Digest was an invitation from Nick Taylor and Robin Auld to all songwriters (published or not) and those interested in promoting the art of song writing, to join SASONG. This is the South African Songwriters Guild, dedicated to the development, promotion and protection of local music and song writing in South Africa.

The Guild will hold its inaugural meeting in Cape Town on April 23 to elect a working committee, adopt a constitution, set aims and objectives and discuss presentations to ICASA (Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) at hearings to be held in Cape Town on May 7 and 8.

“SASONG's aim is to help you get your songs on the map and in the charts ... here and abroad,” say the organisers. “Get involved and be part of shaping the future of song writing in South Africa.”
