Mercury Rising, the smash-hit musical revue saluting rock icon Freddie Mercury, returns to Durban at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from June 12 to 30 hot on the heels of a successful season in Johannesburg.

The highly sophisticated and tremendously popular revue features the music of Freddie Mercury performed by the dynamic cast who wowed Johannesburg: Duncan Royce, Angela Killian, Tia Architta and Roelof Coelyn on piano.

“The production has been given a new theatrical injection for its Sneddon run" says Duncan Royce who devised and compiled the show. "It will be even bigger and better than Durban audiences saw last time as it is a more theatrical staging of the show."

Mercury Rising, which is presented by Venture Capital focuses on the soaring and breathtaking music Mercury used to showcase his exceptional vocal abilities. It is an elegant songbook of a singer whose death in 1991 brought to an end to one of the most spectacular rock careers known last century.
